This Saturday and Sunday, (3/26 ~ 3/27), LIMITS returns to its home turf for the last stop on the road to the Grand Final – The Japan Championship. 16 unbelievably talented artists will push themselves to the limit in an all-out creative melee to determine the No.1 creator in Japan. It will be a battle of style as much as skill, with creators hailing from incredibly diverse genres including illustration, animation manga, painting and design.

Don't miss out on the most epic Art Battle yet. The winner and runner-up will qualify for the Grand Final to determine Asia's No. 1. Works created in the battle will be sold as NFTs on the UCOLLEX Platform.

Daniel is a half-Japanese, half-Polish artist born and raised in Izu, Japan. Daniel began his career in 2018 with a solo exhibition in Ginza, and strives to imbue his works with a positive message centering on the theme: "You have the light".

Yoshito Taketani

Yoshito Taketani

A graduate of Tokyo University of Arts, Yoshito placed in the top 4 in LIMITS Japan and top 8 in LIMITS World in 2019. Not bound to a specific style, he has collaborated with artists across multiple industries, even creating art for Japanese heritage sites.

LIMITS veteran, the aptly named Monochrome is an Illustrator based in Tokyo, who mainly creates black-and-white illustrations. Awarded Best New Artist at the 2021 Taburou Spring Exhibition, he has opened exhibits in London and Germany.

Having a love for drawing since he was a young child, Moriwo's dream has always been to become a "professional doodler." A graduate of Tokyo University of the Arts, his goal in this tournament is to take the audience on a 20 minute doodle journey.

Contestant at LIMITS Japan & LIMITS World 2019 – Founder of God's Design Inc., Tomohiro is a graphic designer based in Osaka. In addition to advertising, film, and web design projects, he crafts his own works with digital collage and retouching.

Hiroco Ichinose

Holding a master's in Media Art from Tokyo Polytechnic University, Hiroco is involved in animation and hosts workshops and live painting. Together with her husband, they form the creative unit, Decovocal.

Born in 1987, this illustrator lives and works in Osaka, Japan. While serving as the head of the Manga Department at Osaka Designer's College, he also creates his own work, specializing in monster and character illustration.

Born in Nara Prefecture, TEBASAKI is a die-hard fan of Japanese idol groups whose works mainly feature girls and food. Her artistic achievements include watch design for idol group Mameshiba no Taigun, and poster illustration for Snow Miku.

Dressed in mascot attire, Sikissy's mission is to spread the love of caricature art. Sikissy has won various prizes including 1st prize (Performance category) at the 2016 Japan Caricature Competition, and 1st prize (Caricature division) at World Art Fight 2017.

Motohiro Ichinomiya

1st prize winner at LIMITS Fukuoka 2019 – After dropping out of college, he began working as a freelance illustrator. His work covers a wide range, from storyboards to character design and animation in commercials, movies and games.

Tokyo University of the Arts graduate and LIMITS Japan 2019 contestant, Youyarn has published several books on artistic technique. He currently manages a painting school in Sapporo, Japan and sells his work mainly in art galleries and department stores.

NAREU. I'll 4444

NAREU's artistic endeavors cover a wide range of activities including apparel, illustration and logo design. NAREU has recieved awards from WEGO After School Art Club and Cotton Council International.

LIMITS Japan 2019 Champion and 2nd Place Winner at LIMITS World 2019, his battle weapons are his Adobe Illustrator skills and fiercly unique style. He has done artwork for brands like TEKKEN, B-SIDE LABEL, and performed live all over the world.

Hirofumi Mochizuki

Contestant in LIMITS Japan and LIMITS World 2019, Hirofumi is known for creating vibrant sci-fi worlds and characters. He has created works used in product promotions and media of all kinds, and performs live painting, both digital and analog, at parties and art events.

Contestant at LIMITS Japan 2019 - Graduate of Joshibi University of Art and Design and a prolific painter and fashion designer, Eico has worked as a character designer at San-X and Sega Toys.
